The lessons in detail
A neighbourhood where generations live close
Little Italy has kept something few Montreal neighbourhoods still have: several generations of one family often live a few streets apart, or in the same duplex. It is not unusual for a grandparent to want to learn alongside a grandchild, and the classical guitar suits both very well.
Starting in retirement
The classical guitar needs little strength and a lot of precision, which makes it a good instrument to start late. The pace is adapted: short pieces, comfortable fingerings, and fifteen minutes of practice a day rather than long sessions.
A tradition of music at home
In many families in the neighbourhood, music is first played at home, at parties and around the table. Lessons at home fit that habit: you learn on your own chair, in your own kitchen, and then play for your own people.
Lessons in English or French
Lessons are given in English, French or Czech, whichever suits the student best.
