The lessons in detail

Outdoor staircases, in January

La Petite-Patrie is built of duplexes and triplexes with outdoor staircases. Going down three flights of icy steps with a guitar case and an eight-year-old on a January evening is exactly the kind of detail that ends a lesson habit after one winter. When the teacher climbs the stairs instead, the question disappears.

A neighbourhood of families and primary schools

The neighbourhood has become much younger and has many families with primary-school children. The slot that works best is late afternoon, right after school: a thirty-minute lesson at home before dinner, with no transport to organise.

What the first months cover

  • ✓ Posture and holding the guitar, adapted to the child's size.
  • ✓ A clean right-hand tone before speed.
  • ✓ Reading music, introduced from the start in small doses.
  • ✓ A first complete piece, played for the family.
  • ✓ Missing something? Mark can help you get all the required material during the lesson.

Lessons in French or English

La Petite-Patrie is mostly French-speaking, and lessons there are usually given in French. English and Czech are available if that is the language at home.
